Don't forget to check in on your friends...

🌿 May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
And this year, it hits differently.

I work at Microsoft, which just went through a round of layoffs. In the past, I wasn’t always as aware of how deeply these moments impact people. I didn’t always know how to show up for others—or even realize they were struggling.

Now I do.

Recent layoffs across the tech industry are a reminder that behind every organizational chart are real people—navigating uncertainty, anxiety, and grief. It’s a lot.

And for those still employed, the current pace of change—especially with AI—is overwhelming. We’re being asked to move and adapt faster than we’re wired to. Mentally, emotionally, and even physically, it’s hard to keep up.

16 months ago, after losing five people to suicide in one month in our local community, We launched Mission Save a Life—a nonprofit rooted in compassion, connection, and conversation.

We introduced our first campaign, #4 Things Could Save a Life
They may come in handy now more than ever:
1ļøāƒ£ Recognize the signs
2ļøāƒ£ Create a connection
3ļøāƒ£ Encourage support
4ļøāƒ£ Talk about it

🫶 This month (and every month), please take a moment to check in—on yourself and on others.

You don’t have to fix anything.
Just listen. Be kind. Be human.

✨ Your presence could save a life.
